Bremen, Germany – November 21, 2019 – Additive Works and PTC collaborated to increase the Additive Manufacturing capabilities of PTC’s Creo® suite of computer-aided design (CAD) software. This collaboration introduces Additive Works’ Amphyon simulation plugin for PTC customers.
With the steady market growth and rapidly-maturing technology of metal 3D printing (Additive Manufacturing), engineers, manufacturers and technology experts demand high-end simulation and analysis capabilities to enhance the early stages of their product development process.
Powered by Additive Works’ Amphyon, the new solution will offer PTC customers a seamless integration within Creo, enabling users to perform process simulations in early stages of the design and job preparation process, allowing companies to reduce lead times, cost, and failures during the manufacturing process.
With the integrated solution, users can work in their CAD environment and seamlessly insert process simulation and automatic distortion compensation (including machine-specific calibration) into the build preparation process. The results from Amphyon's simulation engine are made available in Creo's environment, enabling not only inspection and evaluation of the build result, but also compensation of residual distortion on a geometrical level.
