FAW Volkswagen orders servo press line and tryout press

Göppingen, 30.11.2015 – Schuler AG has received a further major order from FAW Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. The Chinese company ordered press line with ServoDirect Technology and a servo tryout press for its Qingdao facility. With a total force of 81,000 kilonewtons, the servo press line will be mainly used to produce car body parts, such as hoods or doors. The order value is in the middle double-digit-million-euro range.

FAW Volkswagen is thus investing in Schuler’s proven ServoDirect Technology for one of its seven factories in China. Press lines featuring this drive technology have a particularly high performance with productivity around 20 percent higher than conventional mechanical press lines.  “Schuler’s Servoline XL can make a decisive contribution to enhancing the economic efficiency of modern press shops,” says Klaus Linnig, Managing Director for Schuler’s Automotive division. Thanks to its electronically regulated motors, ServoDirect drive technology not only ensures high output levels, but also greater flexibility and energy efficiency, as well as low part costs.
