Energy Absolute Public Company Limited has awarded Pöyry with engineering assignments for EA Solar Lampang solar PV (photovoltaic) power plant in Thailand.
The assignments include technical assistance to the client during the implementation phase until start of operation later in 2014; and annual operation monitoring for the whole loan period. The total installed capacity of the project will be about 130 MWDC with an annual generation of 207 GWh. A total of 424,800 solar panels will be installed on a mounting structure with a single-axis tracking system. The project will be executed up to the end of 2025.
The project, developed by Energy Absolute PCL, is located in Lampang province, northern Thailand. This project will be Asia's largest solar PV power plant incorporating a tracking system.
"As one of the world's leading renewable engineering consultancies, with an accumulated total installed capacity exceeding 32 000 MW, Pöyry continues to support the Thai power sector in its rapid expansion in the renewable energy sector", says Didier Mallieu, Vice President of Pöyry's Hydropower and Renewable Energy Global Competence Line.
The value of the orders is not disclosed. The orders will be recognised within the Energy Business Group order stock in Q3/2014.
