Outotec has agreed with Russian Copper Company on the design and delivery of a new copper concentrator for the first stage of the Tominsky project in the Chelyabinsk region in Russia. The total value of the contracts exceed EUR 50 million, which will be booked in Outotec's Q2 2013 order intake.
Russian Copper Company is developing a large porphyry copper deposit in Tominsky to produce concentrate at site by autumn 2015. Outotec's delivery for the project includes basic and detail engineering of the concentrating process, proprietary and key equipment, such as TankCell® 300 flotation cells, thickeners, analyzers and automation, as well as installation and commissioning supervision services.
The deliveries are scheduled for 2014. Once operational, at the first stage the concentrator will treat annually 17 million tonnes of ore and produce 63,000 tonnes copper in concentrate to be further processed in Russian Copper Company's smelters.
"This order follows our long cooperation with Russian Copper Company in developing their operations, such as Mikheevsky and Green Mountain. The new Tominsky concentrator plant will represent world-class technology with the latest innovations in instrumentation and automation supporting sustainable and efficient operations", says Pertti Korhonen, CEO of Outotec.
