Gouda - Imtech (IM-AE, technical services in and outside Europe) announces that it is able to meet the growing demand for high-tech technical solutions in the care sector in Sweden. New orders worth 60 million euro were obtained.

René van der Bruggen, CEO Imtech: 'Technology is becoming increasingly important in health care. The care sector is facing the challenge of an increasing demand for health care services due to an aging population, while at the same time there is a need to operate more efficient and less expensive. Integration of all technological solutions (the combination of electrical solutions, ICT - information and communication technology - and mechanical solutions) is Imtech's answer to this problem. In addition, there is a growing demand for technical quality. After all, the care market increasingly requires specific technology that satisfies the strictest hygiene and safety standards. In Sweden, Imtech as a professional technology partner is able to provide an effective response.'

New orders in Swedish care sector
The position of Imtech in the Swedish care sector has been strengthened significantly. By bundling services and activities Imtech is able more and more to act as a multidisciplinary technology partner. Moreover, Imtech has specific competences in the field of energy efficiency. Especially the Swedish government invests in the modernisation of hospitals. Imtech is able to respond effectively to this and has recently obtained a large number of orders.

The largest order is the expansion of the Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm. Commissioned by Skanska Healthcare and the Stockholm County Council (SCC), Imtech will build an innovative distribution system for use of (special) medical gases. In addition, specific energy-efficient solutions for heating and cooling are supplied, as well as a high-tech sustainable drainage system for the nine-story parking garage.

Other orders are the multidisciplinary technology solutions in a medical clinic in Lund, the technological renovation and upgrading of the Falun Hospital, a technological upgrade of the intensive care unit and a new burns center at the University Hospital of Uppsala, parts of the technical infrastructure in hospitals in Karlstad, Kalmar, Oskarshamn and Västervik and the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg.
